What this site is for
This website is the online home of Brown Dog Barn, a luxury farmstay for couples in the Promised Land valley of the Bellingen Shire on the NSW Mid North Coast. It exists to do three things well: show you honestly what the Barn looks like, through unretouched photography of the property itself; keep a live availability calendar, synced daily with our Airbnb listing and our own booking calendar so the dates you see are the dates you get; and share our local knowledge, so your stay in the valley feels like it was arranged by a friend.
Who it is for
The Barn is deliberately for couples only. It sleeps two, takes one booking at a time, and shares nothing — no other guests, no shared decks, no noise. It is built for the two of you when you want total privacy: a slow weekend, an anniversary, a writing retreat, or simply a few days of doing nothing but soaking in the outdoor bath, reading on the deck and eating well. Families and larger groups are warmly looked after by our sister property, Cloud Valley Cottage, on the same twenty acres.
Who builds it
Everything here is made and kept by us — a small family farm in Gleniffer. We restored the old barn by hand, we bake the bread that greets you on arrival, we light the fire pit, and we write these pages ourselves. No management company, no call centre: when you enquire, book or arrive, you are dealing with the people who live in the valley and look after the land. The brown dog after whom the Barn is named supervises from a respectful distance.
